271·4 days agoYou’re completely right, both sides have speech they find unacceptable. But lets try to look at it a little closer, what kind of speech does the left try to ban?
Mostly stuff like racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, stuff that hurts others and keeps them down. But i agree, sometimes they take that too far. I think more left leaning people should focus a lot more on economic equality and workers rights.
What kind of speech does the right want to ban? Mostly stuff about their human rights violations, as far as i can tell.
Two sides of the same coin, i guess.

That is why i say everything else the Trump government is doing right now is just distraction.
Unfortunately many of their distractions are already global catastrophes by themselves.
Nah, this ends with America so bankrupt that states split up from the federation. Maybe, just maybe, the workers unions will be strong enough to claim one of these new countries, but most likely it ends with seperate kingdoms, each ruled by a different billionaire.
You can’t just go around accusing people of being mass murderers.

He doesn’t care about Ukraine or Russia, even Greenland or Panama.
Trump is there to dismantle the American government for his billionaire buddies. That is the job they hired him to do.
Elon Musk and Peter Thiel very openly subscribed to Curtis Yarvins world view, and he very openly describes how to dismantle government, and now they are doing it.
