How would that “admin” be helpful on matrix?
Buddhist, researcher, FOSS, Linux, selfhosting enthusiast, plantbased, anarchism and MLM interested.
Trying to be nice. I really dislike the Reddit style aggressive comments. If you are rude I will block and ban you.

@TeamAssimilation@infosec.pub Why did you report my comment???
Reason: Honest question: why docker if a simple git command is enough?
Thanks for further explaining.
I’ve been super frustrated by lemmy posting vague info then going to watch some Linux and selfhosting YouTubers for them to only explain or gossip the issue for 20 minutes without alternatives.
So far trying librefox.
I think the biggest ones that would suck if lost would be Qbit, Jellyfin, and Trilium. Qbit because it download and share a lot with it. Jellyfin because of most of my family’s media consumption is via it. And trilium because most of my notes from the past year plus are there plus imported others. It’s essential.
Thanks for an actual answer
Wonder if there’s a docker to backup and update repos
This is the only good critique in this entire thread (thank you) BUT librewolf is on the exact same version as Firefox. It appears their updates are pretty fast.
Would you have config recommendations beyond the obvious?
yes and then sold and FOSS again!
I found a decent answer here https://www.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/18g8tez/what_am_i_gaining_if_i_switch_from_librewolf_to/
That mod sums up a lot that I found. I don’t know the answer because they both have odd downsides.
Yes they’re both forks!
Looking into Librewolf and Waterfox now!
Where is the server version? I’ve been trying to find it!
Thanks for that tip.
Then I will check. The options were grayed out on desktop when I first checked, could only export text
It looks decent but I don’t like that you have to pay to export markdown.
I really like fedora out of the box but if you’re used to windows some will recommend Linux mint. In fedora there are a lot of packages installable via the software store as well as downloading app images and RPM files.
Thank you for typing this out! :) It was helpful
